Hillary Clinton’s emails may not be her only leaks. One week after Russian hackers allegedly broke into the Democratic National Committee’s email servers and released a treasure trove of documents on her political opponent Donald Trump, a 78MB archive of documents about Clinton has been leaked on the internet as well.
Both the earlier Trump documents and today’s Clinton archives were published by the same source: a Twitter account with the name “Guccifer 2.0.” Guccifer likely refers to an earlier hacker who published documents about the family of presidents George and George W. Bush, and later hacked a variety of celebrities including Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
In an interview with Motherboard, the owner of the Guccifer 2.0 twitter account denied any connection to Russian hackers, a claim which the DNC called “disinformation.” The Hillary Clinton campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
